Professor Alicia Volk awarded two prestigious publishing grants for forthcoming book

Professor Volk's book, In the Shadow of Empire: Art in Occupied Japan, to be published early in 2025

Professor Alicia Volk has been awarded two prestigious scholarly subventions, the Millard Meiss Publication Grant and the Lauder Center Publication Grant, for her book In the Shadow of Empire: Art in Occupied Japan, which will be published early in 2025.

The two grants are:

1. Millard Meiss Publication Grant, offered by the College Art Association, which supports "book-length scholarly manuscripts in the history of art, visual studies, and related subjects" 

2. Lauder Center Publication Grant, offered by the Leonard A. Lauder Research Center for Modern Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which supports "publications in the field of modern art and theory, and modern visual culture”
